**Please read before registering for this virtual class: Your student's district Chromebook will not work for this virtual class. You will need to have access to a personal laptop or desk top computer (with camera and microphone) to participate in the virtual option. Virtual classroom meets for three hours, one day each week, for four weeks and is taught live, via zoom, by an Advantage instructor who provides instruction and interaction with the students. Internet connection and access to a computer or laptop is required. Class recordings are available for students who need to make up any missed classes. Learn the skills needed to have a successful year in Algebra 1. During this course. students will be assessed on their attainment of last year's pre-algebra skills. They will be re-taught forgotten concepts and will get a head start on the upcoming Fall's Algebra course. Students will also learn the valuable study skills that will ensure success in their math classes throughout their academic career. This includes metacognition, organization and note-taking skills. They will leave this course with a notebook of learned concepts organized in the manner taught in class so it can be used as a reference throughout the school year. *This class can be paired with the Study Skills class immediately following it.
