    Ready to try something new this winter? Join us for a relaxed and welcoming introduction to cross country skiing designed for adults! Our experienced instructors will guide you through the basics, from putting on skis to gliding with confidence. No pressure, no prior experience needed--just a great opportunity to enjoy the outdoors, get moving, and learn a new skill in a supportive environment. All equipment is provided. This program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.

    This guided snowshoe hike is designed for adults looking to enjoy the peaceful beauty of winter at twilight. As we trek through quiet trails, you'll take in the golden hues of sunset, the crunch of snow underfoot, and the calm of the evening woods. It's the perfect way to slow down, and soak in the magic of winter. No experience necessary. Snowshoes are provided. In the event of of insufficient snow, we'll swap snowshoes for boots and enjoy a nature hike instead. This program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.
  • Beginner Cross Country Ski Lessons

    Learn how to glide across the snow in basic lessons for all ages and ability levels! Our instructors provide an interactive ski lesson covering equipment and basic drills for balance, form and agility. Once trained, master your skills by striding the groomed trails of Lake Minnewashta Regional Park. Open to adults and children ages 8 and up. This program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks. Participants under the age 12 need to register with a participating adult. Ski equipment is provided.
  • Kayak 101

    Get out on a beautiful Minnesota lake and learn the basics of flat water kayaking with skilled instructors. Time will be spent on land exploring safety, how to fit a kayak, and proper paddling form before heading onto the water to focus on specific paddle strokes. All equipment including life-jackets will be provided. You are welcome to bring your own life-jacket if it is labeled "USCG Approved". This program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.

    Renew, review, and reconnect with nature-and with other who love the outdoors! this 6-week series offers a sampler of outdoor recreation activities guided by Carver County Parks instructors. Whether you're a lifelong outdoor enthusiast or just getting started, this group is for you. Each week's activity will be chosen based on weather and seasonal opportunities. Adventures may include Nordic walking, fishing, archery, paddling, campfire cooking, geocaching, or fire building. All equipment is provided. This program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.
  • Senior Snowshoe

    See nature in a new way by getting out into the woods in the winter! Follow deer paths through the pine trees and learn about winter ecology from our trained instructors. No need to worry about inexperience-we have the equipment and expertise to get you exploring the snowy landscape. All equipment is provided.   • Spring Nordic Walking Series

    Nordic Walking Club (6 Week Series) Learn how to do Nordic walking or get to know other enthusiasts as we explore the parks and trails around Carver County. Nordic Walking is a low impact and easy to learn activity with motions similar to cross country skiing, but without the snow or skis. All Equipment is provided; however, if you have your own poles, you are welcome to use them. Locations will vary each week and will be in Carver County parks or on Regional Trails. The location schedule will be sent via email. Offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.
