PRMS Jazz Band

Music Academy / Group Music Courses -
Fall 2024

Be a part of something special in the Pioneer Ridge Jazz Collective! Have fun learning and playing jazz, rock, pop, and Latin styles. Everyone gets a chance to improvise if they would like. This is a special group that makes great music and has a great time.

Performances

  • Friday, December 20, 8:20-8:40 AM breakfast concert at PRMS
  • District Jazz Festival - Feb. 1st @ Chaska High School - All afternoon and evening
  • Pioneer Ridge Showcase Night – February 6th @ Pioneer Ridge, time TBD
  • University of Minnesota Duluth Jazz Festival - March 22nd - All day trip, possible overnight stay, additional fees will apply
  • Jazz Night ‘25 - March 25th, 5:30PM @ CMSE

Scott L Prescott

Scott Prescott began his 32nd year as a music educator this fall. He has taught elementary, middle school, and high school band students in Minnesota, Iowa, and Michigan, and has worked as a graduate assistant helping music education majors and observing student teachers. He holds degrees in music education from the University of Minnesota and the University of Michigan and was named Teacher of the Year by the Minnesota Middle School Association in 2009. Mr. Prescott is currently the band instructor at Pioneer Ridge Middle School and is an assistant with the Chanhassen H.S. marching band. He has taught music in the Eastern Carver County Schools since 2002 and lives in Minneapolis with his wife and two sons.
