  • Chaska Quarterback Football Camp

    Do you have interest in playing quarterback? Do you want to improve your ability to throw the football? Come work with the Chaska football coaches and players on developing skills to help play the quarterback position. We will work on throwing mechanics, footwork, leadership and having fun through competition.

    Sessions A and D (9:00 - 10:00 am) Grades 1-3 Sessions B and E (10:15 - 11:15 am) Grades 4-6 Sessions C and F (11:30 - 12:30 pm) Grades 7-9 Our summer volleyball camps will be directed by Head CHS Volleyball Coach Sue Murphy. Through Sue's passion and leadership, our campers will receive the highest level of volleyball instruction as players will learn to pass, set, hit, and serve volleyballs in a positive and fun environment. Along with fun and challenging games- Learn to Play with Purpose with Chaska Volleyball! Camps are open to boys and girls!
  • Child and Babysitting Safety

    Participants will learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, safe, responsible and professional babysitter. Topics include supervision, behavior guidance, proper feeding and diapering techniques, personal safety, basic first aid, medical emergencies, and fire safety. Dolls, bottles, and diaper supplies will be provided at class for hands-on participation. This class is developed by the American Safety and Health Institute and approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Class participants receive a manual and certification card. Participants should bring a peanut free snack and beverage to class.

Topics include supervision, behavior guidance, proper bottle feeding/diapering techniques, personal and child safety, basic first aid, emergencies, and fire safety. Dolls, bottles, and diaper supplies are provided for hands-on participation. This class was developed by the Health & Safety Institute and is approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Participants receive a certification card and a downloadable handbook.
  • Clayful Creations Camp with Abrakadoodle!

    If you love clay this is the camp for you. Learn all about sculpting, color-mixing, and decorative design. This summer, we’ll make 3D clay cupcakes, cool coil pots, airdry clay owls with a bright oil pastel finish, a gentle giraffe, clay faces, and more. We’ll use air dry and model magic clay, unique materials, and clay tools to create our sculptures. Bring a beverage and a nut free snack.   • Competition Cheer

    Join the Comp Cheer Team as we try to make our way back to Nationals this coming season! We'll develop a routine that'll involve stunts, tumbling, and dance. The summer session is the time where we learn our routine and get ready for the competition season that starts in the Fall. An additional sign up will take place for the Fall competition season later, this is just for the summer workouts and attending summer camp. Please sign up right after tryouts, by May 15! Comp Cheer is an expensive sport but to help with this we'll be splitting the payments up into re-occurring payment along with Fundraising opportunities.     This camp is designed for players who have played at the junior varsity or varsity levels. Players will be breaking down the variety of skills needed to compete at the high school level. During camp we will focus on strategy, mental toughness, along with skill development for both singles and doubles. This is led by Zach Williams, teacher and head boys tennis coach at Chaska High School.

    Ninja Obstacle Training is extremely popular with kids and is a fun, unique way to develop confidence, strength, endurance, balance, and friendships! Athletes benefit from training in agility, power, perseverance, and resilience; attributes that all athletes strive to improve. Our Conquer Rec Team is designed for youth, ages 6-13 of all experience levels. Our Rec Team will practice on real obstacles inspired by the TV shows warped walls, salmon ladders, titling ladders and so much more during their weekly practice. Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles!     **Refunds are not guaranteed within 5 business days of the class starting unless the spot can be filled by another student. There is a $15 processing fee for any cancellations. Community Education, in collaboration with Safeway Driving School, offers students ages 14½ and older the opportunity to participate in classroom instruction to prepare them for the MN permit test. All instructors are licensed by the MN Department of Public Safety. Classroom instruction prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and begin the responsibility of driving. The 30 hours of classroom is structured into 10 independent lessons. Students must be on time for all classes. Riding the district activity bus may not ensure timely arrival so alternative arrangements should be made. If a student misses a lesson, they can sign up for a make-up lesson through their Safeway Account. Please contact Safeway Driving School directly to make-up missed classes. After class is completed, students that are 15 years old are eligible to take their permit test at any Minnesota exam center or online. Students can take the class at age 14½ but cannot take their permit test until age 15. *Click the link below to see a step by step guide to obtaining a MN State Driver's License. Minnesota's Graduated Driver's Licensing System Behind-the-wheel registration and instruction must be directly set up with Safeway Driving School, 651.351.9150, www.safewaydrivingschool.com.   • Drone Racing

    Students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. Once they learn the basics of flying, they’ll assemble their very own drone which they’ll get to keep after the camp. After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take their drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot their drones and keep them running. The drones used in camps have cameras, and are perfect for entry level pilots. Drone Information: *Choose to borrow a Drone or purchase your own at a discounted rate! Drones are not guaranteed for purchase after the camp has started. *The Drones that will be used are a u818a from UDIRC and Force1! It has a 720P camera and is generally well suited for beginner pilots. It is preferred for students not to bring their drone from home. *Students will receive the drone on day or 1 or 2 of camp. *The SkyLens Drone will also work for this camp.     This camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO® building system's versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO®). Working each day in teams, students will construct fun LEGO® models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day's activities. The final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle. Students will be working in small teams of 2-3.     Join the fun and play flag football with Chaska Chanhassen Football Association (CCFA)! We’ll teach players football fundamentals in a fun and safe environment. Teams will be formed by grade level and each player will receive a jersey to keep. Volunteer coaches are needed! Please note: CCFA Flag Football is a 2-step registration process. Step 1: Register with ECCS Community Education Step 2: Complete your registration on CCFA Football by providing your grade level, jersey size, buddy request, and volunteer to coach! Registration deadline is June 30th in order to form teams and try to honor one friend request, generate teams, and provide a schedule to families earlier! 9-3pm is the window of time the games will be played. You will be notified by your coach of the exact game times once the teams are formed.

    Are you interested in having your child learn a new fun language that is spoken by over 1 billion people? Are you considering to enroll your child into a Mandarin Chinese immersion school next school year or in the near future, but are wondering if the language would be a good fit for him/her? Does your child have a Chinese heritage background, but does not speak the language at home? Is your child fascinated by the tones in the spoken Chinese and/or by the strokes in the written system in Chinese? If yes to any of the questions above, this class would be a good choice for your child this summer. The course is designed for students with zero or limited Chinese proficiency, but would like to give themselves some challenges in learning a new language. During this 11-day course, your child will explore and learn about different topics in traditional Chinese, such as numbers, fruit, animals, etc., through various fun and exciting activities. The goals for this course are to spark your child's curiosity and have them embrace the love of learning the Mandarin Chinese used in Taiwan and the Taiwanese culture, so that they would want to continue to learn this fascinating language in their life. The skilled, native Taiwanese instructor with more than 20 years of teaching experience will show the students that learning Mandarin Chinese is FUN via her interactive lessons.

    Does your daughter want to be an archer as famous as Katniss Everdeen, skillful as Artemis or just want to put Robin Hood in his place? Then this camp is her place to train and make new archery friends! Through fun games and experiential learning, participants will learn range safety and proper techniques for stance, aim, and release to improve their shot. Campers will get the opportunity to shoot both compound and recurve bows at various target styles. All equipment is provided. This class is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.

    Gizmos & Gadgets are weird, wacky, and super fun – and they are even more fun when you build them yourself! Join us in this super-exciting, super-secret Lab to design, experiment, and build your ultimate collection of extremely cool Gizmos & Gadgets! Create your own rubber band shooter, robotic arm, slingshot rocket, personal fan, and levitating pencil, among many other mind-blowing STEAM projects!     Come and explore art in the dark! During each class we will draw, paint and create art using glow in the dark materials.
