  • Chaska Summer Volleyball Camp

    Sessions A and D (9:00 - 10:00 am) Grades 1-3 Sessions B and E (10:15 - 11:15 am) Grades 4-6 Sessions C and F (11:30 - 12:30 pm) Grades 7-9 Our summer volleyball camps will be directed by Head CHS Volleyball Coach Sue Murphy. Through Sue's passion and leadership, our campers will receive the highest level of volleyball instruction as players will learn to pass, set, hit, and serve volleyballs in a positive and fun environment. Along with fun and challenging games- Learn to Play with Purpose with Chaska Volleyball! Camps are open to boys and girls!
  • Child and Babysitting Safety

    Participants will learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, safe, responsible, and professional babysitter. Topics include supervision, behavior guidance, proper bottle feeding/diapering techniques, personal and child safety, basic first aid, emergencies, and fire safety. Dolls, bottles, and diaper supplies are provided for hands-on participation. This class was developed by the Health & Safety Institute and is approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Participants receive a certification card and a downloadable handbook.
  • Clayful Creations Camp with Abrakadoodle!

    If you love clay this is the camp for you. Learn all about sculpting, color-mixing, and decorative design. This summer, we’ll make 3D clay cupcakes, cool coil pots, airdry clay owls with a bright oil pastel finish, a gentle giraffe, clay faces, and more. We’ll use air dry and model magic clay, unique materials, and clay tools to create our sculptures. Bring a beverage and a nut free snack.   • Competition Cheer

    Join the Comp Cheer Team as we try to make our way back to Nationals this coming season! We'll develop a routine that'll involve stunts, tumbling, and dance. The summer session is the time where we learn our routine and get ready for the competition season that starts in the Fall. An additional sign up will take place for the Fall competition season later, this is just for the summer workouts and attending summer camp. Please sign up right after tryouts, by May 15! Comp Cheer is an expensive sport but to help with this we'll be splitting the payments up into re-occurring payment along with Fundraising opportunities.     This camp is designed for players who have played at the junior varsity or varsity levels. Players will be breaking down the variety of skills needed to compete at the high school level. During camp we will focus on strategy, mental toughness, along with skill development for both singles and doubles. This is led by Zach Williams, teacher and head boys tennis coach at Chaska High School.

Athletes benefit from training in agility, power, perseverance, and resilience; attributes that all athletes strive to improve. Our Conquer Rec Team is designed for youth, ages 6-13 of all experience levels. Our Rec Team will practice on real obstacles inspired by the TV shows warped walls, salmon ladders, titling ladders and so much more during their weekly practice. Rec Team members will learn the styles and techniques to develop their Ninja Skills with over 40 different obstacles!     Learn how to take plain popcorn from "meh" to Gourmet! Instructor Sandi will teach participants to make 3 different popcorn topper recipes, simply using common spices and pantry ingredients! Participants will prepare "Popcorn Flights." Each bag of popcorn will be topped with a different gourmet seasoning recipe, such as Cinnamon Sugar, Smoky BBQ, and Parmesan Garlic. Well in this beginner class, you’ll learn helpful tips and strategies to create social media content with ease. You’ll never have to worry about freezing up in front of a camera, all thanks to the helpful skills you’ll be taking with you once your class is complete. We’ll walk you through a step-by-step process so that you can get started today! Students will leave the class with confidence on how to effectively create social media content for their specific audience, tips for filming a video and more! They will understand key terms, and leave with action items to create successful social media posts without panicking. Each class recording will be sent to all registered participants so that they do not have to attend at the exact designated time. Community Education, in collaboration with Safeway Driving School, offers students ages 14½ and older the opportunity to participate in classroom instruction to prepare them for the MN permit test. All instructors are licensed by the MN Department of Public Safety. Classroom instruction prepares the student to take the Minnesota permit test and begin the responsibility of driving. The 30 hours of classroom is structured into 10 independent lessons. Students must be on time for all classes. Riding the district activity bus may not ensure timely arrival so alternative arrangements should be made. If a student misses a lesson, they can sign up for a make-up lesson through their Safeway Account. Please contact Safeway Driving School directly to make-up missed classes. After class is completed, students that are 15 years old are eligible to take their permit test at any Minnesota exam center or online. Students can take the class at age 14½ but cannot take their permit test until age 15. *Click the link below to see a step by step guide to obtaining a MN State Driver's License.   • Drone Racing

    Students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. Once they learn the basics of flying, they’ll assemble their very own drone which they’ll get to keep after the camp. After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take their drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot their drones and keep them running. The drones used in camps have cameras, and are perfect for entry level pilots. Drone Information: *Choose to borrow a Drone or purchase your own at a discounted rate! Drones are not guaranteed for purchase after the camp has started. *The Drones that will be used are a u818a from UDIRC and Force1! It has a 720P camera and is generally well suited for beginner pilots. It is preferred for students not to bring their drone from home. *Students will receive the drone on day or 1 or 2 of camp. *The SkyLens Drone will also work for this camp.     This camp will energize and excite students by combining the LEGO® building system's versatility and the Mindstorms EV3 (the most sophisticated microcomputer brick ever made by LEGO®). Working each day in teams, students will construct fun LEGO® models, experiment with programs, and compete in robotic challenges. Robot building, block programming, and teamwork will be part of each day's activities. The final challenges will be centered around hitting targets and a sumo battle. Students will be working in small teams of 2-3.
