Youth Match Play Tennis Ages 11-15

This class is perfect for the older kid that prefers to both improve their tennis game and play tennis matches against others of a similar ability level. Each class will consist of improving the tennis strokes in addition to further enhancing their athleticism. The purpose is NOT to distinguish between winning and losing, but to help kids further develop their tennis skills by playing matches against others of a similar ability level. Each class will consist of a warm-up and skill development portion and approximately 30 minutes of playing singles and/or doubles matches. Please bring your appropriate size tennis racket and a water bottle. 

Register for one of the below sessions, either 12, 8, or 4 days. To make the course more schedule friendly you may come on any of the dates listed during the class time period you have registered for.

Jim Mason

Jim is a USPTA certified tennis teaching professional with nearly 30 years of tennis teaching experience to all age groups and ability levels. He played college tennis for 3 years at Mankato State University and was a conference champion his senior year. He also has a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. Jim started his high school coaching journey as the boys head coach for Chaska High School in 2005. When Chanhassen High School opened in 2009 he moved over to take over both the boys and girls tennis program. As Head Coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams at Chanhassen High School, he has overseen a program that has grown each year in the number of participants and wins. The girl’s team won the conference championship from 2012-2015 and the boys were conference champions in 2019. Jim loves not only working with all age groups and giving back to the game of tennis, but building relationships with all those he steps on the court with.
