Summer Care Programs Pre-K through 8th Grade
Ages 4-5: 4 DAYS OF FUN-FILLED TENNIS WITH A FREE T-SHIRT FOR ALL PARTICIPANTS! Looking to have your child try tennis for the first time? If so, then this is the perfect option for you. This class meets for 4 days and if your child likes the class he/she can continue with the remaining 4 days for only $60 more! The main emphasis is to build basic tennis skills and have fun! With the use of age-appropriate equipment and up-beat, well trained instructors we will start to build your child's basic athletic skills. We also will help develop the child's fine motor skills, like hand-eye coordination, balance and agility. This class will build a solid foundation for the Little Tikes Gold class and a love for this life-long sport! Please bring your appropriately sized tennis racquet and a water bottle.

The United States Tennis Association guidelines are that kids learn the game of tennis with age-appropriate equipment and on age-appropriate court dimensions. We also believe this is the correct way for kids to learn as well. Please watch the following video to understand why.
Jim is a USPTA certified tennis teaching professional with nearly 30 years of tennis teaching experience to all age groups and ability levels. He played college tennis for 3 years at Mankato State University and was a conference champion his senior year. He also has a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. Jim started his high school coaching journey as the boys head coach for Chaska High School in 2005. When Chanhassen High School opened in 2009 he moved over to take over both the boys and girls tennis program. As Head Coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams at Chanhassen High School, he has overseen a program that has grown each year in the number of participants and wins. The girl’s team won the conference championship from 2012-2015 and the boys were conference champions in 2019. Jim loves not only working with all age groups and giving back to the game of tennis, but building relationships with all those he steps on the court with.
