Learn chords, strumming patterns, note reading, tabs and more. By the end of the class you can pick a song of your choice to learn. Method book included. No prior experience needed. Guitars are available if you need one or bring your own. Acoustic or electric.

Have a blast learning a new instrument that can go with you anywhere...the ukulele! Join other beginners in learning about the ukulele, how to strum it, play chords, melodies, and fun songs. Please indicate if you will be using a district Uke or bringing your own.

Learn about America’s original art form and play with a wonderful group of musicians in our CMSW jazz ensembles. Learn fun music, how to improvise, how to play in a jazz style. Performances: CMSW Talent Show on Friday, January 6 District 112 Jazz Festival on Saturday, February 4 District Middle School concert on Tuesday, March 21 a regional collegiate jazz festival, and other potential gigs (there may be an additional fee for these) **should have at least two years of experience playing a band instrument or guitar, piano, bass, drums or voice.

The contemporary Latin music of today plus the traditional Mariachi music it grew from is now available for you to perform here in District 112. Come sing or play guitar, guitarron, violin, brass instruments, bass guitar or drums with our Mariachi/Latin Band. We will learn both traditional Mariachi music and contemporary Latin hit songs. Music experience is preferred but not required. We will also have an opportunity to perform on the final day of class at a Mexican restaurant. Come be part of the fun!

A concert band that performs music exclusively from movies which may include “Star Wars”, “Harry Potter”, “Jurassic Park”, “Lord of the Rings”, Disney favorites, Marvel movies and more. The music is geared toward students who are in their first three years of playing a band instrument. We will perform at River City Days the weekend of July 29-31 in downtown Chaska. Here is your opportunity to learn how music is created in 2023. Learn how to DJ using Serato DJ software and Pioneer controllers. Students will create your own music using Band Lab, Garage Band, Logic, Noteflight and Finale. Learn how to perform live using Ableton Push, Main Stage, Launchpads, seaboards, voice transformers, and drum machines and how to run sound and recording gear.

Continue the Garage Band experience this summer. This is your opportunity to be in a top-notch high-octane rock band and have some incredible performing experiences. If you would like to play or sing everything from classic rock to the newest rock with other musicians who love it as much as you do in just a few rehearsals that won’t take up to much of your busy schedule, then this the group for you. We are looking for singers, guitarists, keyboardists, bass players, drummers and horn players who have at least four years experience on their instruments. Rehearsals: *Wednesdays, June 28-July 26 *Students will be assigned a session: 12-2pm, 1-3pm (for students going to Nashville) 3:30-4:30pm (for students not going to Nashville) Performances: Chaska River City Days Weekend of July 28-30 Course Fee: $225 for students who will be attending the Nashville Trip. You must have registered for this trip in January. This will include a brush up rehearsal (TBA), performance and Carver's Ironwood Park TBD, in addition to Nashville Trip $129 for students not attending Nashville Trip

Learn the basics of street marching, play some fun music, and perform in two or three parades pending the pandemic. Traditionally we have performed in the Chanhassen Independence Day Parade on July 4, the Chaska River City Days Parade on July 30 and at Valleyfair (date TBA). Should have at least one year of experience playing a band instrument. Students will need to purchase a shirt for $10 and a lyre to hold their music (costs vary between $5-$13).

Since 2004, we have been providing students an innovative rock band experience like none other in the Twin Cities area. Play or sing everything from classic rock to the newest rock with other musicians who love it as much as you do.
