Mariachi BandGroup Music CoursesThe contemporary Latin music of today plus the traditional Mariachi music it grew from is now available for you to perform here in District 112. Come sing or play guitar, guitarron, violin, brass instruments, bass guitar or drums with our Mariachi/Latin Band. We will learn both traditional Mariachi music and contemporary Latin hit songs. Music Theatre Audition WorkshopGroup Music CoursesThis workshop will prepare high school students for auditions in musical theatre productions in a judgment-free, nurturing environment. The course focuses on developing essential audition skills and techniques, such as song selection, vocal and physical performance, acting, and stage presence. Through practical exercises and individual feedback, students will gain a deeper understanding of their strengths, areas for improvement, and strategies for overcoming audition anxiety and building confidence. Pop EnsembleGroup Music CoursesFor almost 20 years Heidi & Eric Songer have been offering the Garage Band program for students with music experience to perform rock music in a band setting. Recently they introduced this innovative twist on this very popular program. Pop Ensemble is an opportunity to be in a band and learn and perform current Top 40 hits by artists such as Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, The Weeknd, Dua Lipa, Shawn Mendes, Cardi B, Marshmello, Khalid, Billie Eilish, and many more. Students must have at least TWO years of experience on one of the following instruments: piano, bass guitar, drum set, guitar, singing or rapping. We are also looking for students with experience working with Garage Band, Ableton, or Logic. There will be a performance or two on dates TBA.Winter/Spring 2023

Summer High School Garage BandGroup Music CoursesContinue the Garage Band experience this summer. This is your opportunity to be in a top-notch high-octane rock band and have some incredible performing experiences. If you would like to play or sing everything from classic rock to the newest rock with other musicians who love it as much as you do in just a few rehearsals that won’t take up to much of your busy schedule, then this the group for you. We are looking for singers, guitarists, keyboardists, bass players, drummers and horn players who have at least four years experience on their instruments. Rehearsals: *Wednesdays, June 28-July 26 *Students will be assigned a session: 12-2pm, 1-3pm (for students going to Nashville) 3:30-4:30pm (for students not going to Nashville) Performances: Chaska River City Days Weekend of July 28-30 Course Fee: $225 for students who will be attending the Nashville Trip. You must have registered for this trip in January. Summer Marching BandGroup Music CoursesLearn the basics of street marching, play some fun music, and perform in two or three parades pending the pandemic. Traditionally we have performed in the Chanhassen Independence Day Parade on July 4, the Chaska River City Days Parade on July 30 and at Valleyfair (date TBA). Should have at least one year of experience playing a band instrument. Students will need to purchase a shirt for $10 and a lyre to hold their music (costs vary between $5-$13).Summer 2023

Then come be part of the District 112 Garageband. Since 2004, we have been providing students an innovative rock band experience like none other in the Twin Cities area. Play or sing everything from classic rock to the newest rock with other musicians who love it as much as you do. We are looking for singers, guitarists, keyboardists, bass players, drummers and horn players who have at least two-years' experience on their instruments.
