After School Archery
Calling all archers! This archery class is an opportunity for students of all ability levels to try something new! Proper techniques for stance, aim and release are taught by trained instructors who utilize experiential learning and creative games to ensure that all archers grow in their abilities-and have fun! Students can go straight to this program after school from Chaska Middle School East or West. All equipment provided. This program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks. -
Winter Recreation Sampler
Drop into Lake Minnewashta Regional Park to try out a variety of winter outdoor recreation activities with the guidance of trained instructors. Cross county ski on groomed trails, follow deer trails through the woods on snowshoe, slide downhill on a kicksled or search for hidden treasure while geocaching! Then warm up by the fire toasting a smore and drinking hot cocoa or cider. This event is open to people of all ages but is a best fit for ages 6+. In case of poor weather, this event will be rescheduled for February 26th. All equipment is provided. Offered in partnership with Carver County Parks. -
Youth Cross Country Ski Lessons
Learn how to glide across the snow in basic lesson geared toward kids ages 8 and up! Our instructors provide an interactive ski lesson covering equipment and basic drills for balance, form, and agility. Once trained, master your skills by striding the groomed trails of Lake Minnewashta Regional Park. The program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks. Ski equipment is provided. -
Youth Geocaching for S'mores
We’re looking for aspiring treasure hunters to join us on a quest for treasure—s’mores! After a brief training on the history and use of GPS navigation, participants use GPS units to seek out secret caches hidden throughout the park. Each cache contains s’more ingredients—marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate—which are enjoyed by the fire after the adventure is over.
