Let the games begin! Challenge your Magnifying Abilities friends to classic backyard lawn games! Participants will have a variety of games to choose from like cornhole, bocce ball, badmitten, frisbees, etc. Instructor Kelli will organize the fun! Play your favorite game or learn a new game from Kelli. At the end of class, have a snack and sports drink with your friends. Caregivers make great fans to cheer for the participants! Join us for Magnifying Abilities Bingo Night! Our Summer themes will be Beach Bingo in June, Red, White, & Blue Bingo in July, and County Fair Bingo in August. Spend a summer evening enjoying America's favorite pastime...baseball! Meet at the historic Chaska Athletic Park for the match-up of the hometown Chaska Cubs vs. the Prior Lake Jays. This event will be FREE for Magnifying Abilities participants, but registration is required to receive your free admission! Limited tickets are available so don't delay! Bring your own $$$ to purchase snacks and beverages on-site if desired. (No outside food/beverages allowed). All participants must be accompanied by a family member/staff who will need to purchase a $5.00 admission at the gate and remain with their participant throughout the evening. Join instructors from the Three Rivers Park District's Outdoor Recreation School and try out fishing at Lake Auburn! Participants will hike a nature trail at McKnight Park in Chaska with a "bingo card" of nature items to find along the trail...find four-in-a-row and earn a prize! We love bowling at Shakopee Bowl...now let's try Wiffleball! Magnifying Abilities will take over the outdoor Wiffleball field and private patio at Shakopee Bowl for an evening of friendly fun and social time! Play a few casual innings of wiffleball, then enjoy a pizza party dinner. The meal includes pizza, pop, and Bridgemann's ice cream for dessert, all on The Bowl's private patio. Take a break from the summer heat at the SandVenture Aquatic Park in Shakopee! SandVenture features a sandy beach and sand-bottom chlorinated pool. Join your friends to build a sandcastle, relax in the sun or have fun in the pool. Bring extra $$$ to purchase snacks from the concessions if desired (no outside food allowed). Red Cross certified lifeguards staff the pool, but participants are asked to bring a companion for any support needed. Companions may register or purchase their admission at the gate. Join your Magnifying Abilities friends and be entertained at a FREE Water Ski show by the Shockwaves Water Ski Team. These amazing water skiers will perform pyramids, ballet, barefooting, jumping, wakeboarding and many other crowd-pleasing stunts! The show will be held in Quarry Lake Park in Shakopee. Bring a blanket or chair for seating. This event will be held weather-permitting. Participants should be accompanied throughout the entire show by a companion. Have you ever wanted to learn a new language? This class will introduce Magnifying Abilities participants to the 4th most popular language used in the United States...American Sign Language. American Sign Language (ASL) uses gestures, facial expression, and body language to communicate. Instructor Kelli will make learning fun as she teaches how to sign your name, common words, and useful phrases in American Sign Language. Snack included.
