  • Adult Advanced Tennis League

    WEEKLY DRAWING FOR FREE PRIZES- Each year we have the pleasure of teaching tennis to 500+ participants. As a way of saying "THANK YOU" for your continued support, this summer we will have a weekly drawing for free prizes. Each week 15 free prizes will be awarded. Why 15? Just ask one of the staff and we will be happy to tell you! This class is for the more ADVANCED tennis player who can sustain a rally with medium to very fast paced shots (USTA NTRP rating of 3.5+). Each class will consist of approximately 1 hour of fun, live-ball tennis drills with lots of movement utilizing all the tennis strokes to help improve your tennis game. The remaining 30 minutes will consist of both singles and/or doubles match play. Due to the number of higher level players that typically register, it is highly recommended you contact Jim Mason at jimhmason@comcast.net if you are unsure if you meet the recommended 3.5 NTRP rating for this class.   • Beginner/Intermediate Adult Tennis League

    WEEKLY DRAWING FOR FREE PRIZES- Each year we have the pleasure of teaching tennis to 500+ participants. As a way of saying "THANK YOU" for your continued support, this summer we will have a weekly drawing for free prizes. Each week 15 free prizes will be awarded. Why 15? Just ask one of the staff and we will be happy to tell you! Come learn the game of tennis and play matches against other beginner/intermediate adult tennis players. This class is perfect for the player with little or no tennis experience and those who play often at the intermediate level. This class will either meet at Pioneer Ridge Middle School or Chaska West Middle School. A week before class starts you will be notified via email by Community Education as to the class location. All participants will be grouped by ability level and each class will consist of approximately 1 hour of stroke development (Forehand, Backhand, Volley, Serve, etc.) and approximately 30 minutes of practicing what you learned in a match setting against other adults of the same ability level. Both basic singles and doubles strategy will be taught in friendly/no-pressure environment. In order to make the class more schedule friendly you may come to any 9, 12, or 18 class dates!     Join this high energy class for a 45 minute workout! Fit 45 is an easy to follow, intermediate level group fitness class that will make the most of every second you give it. Using a variety of strength and cardio moves, participants will get a full body workout while building muscle and endurance. Be sure to bring a water bottle and stretching mat. NOTE THAT IN PERSON CLASSES MAY BE TRANSITIONED TO ZOOM DEPENDANT ON CURRENT GOVERNMENT RECOMMENDATIONS OR DISCRETION OF INSTRUCTOR. Instructors will greet students at the entrance before class and return them to the same door when class is complete.   • Nordic Pole Walking for Active Older Adults

    What is Nordic Walking? Originating in Scandinavia, and still widely popular, it is simply walking with two poles, like for skiing, providing a better workout as well as better stability for those who have balance, knee or leg problems. It's low impact, fun to do, and easy to learn, making it an ideal form of exercise for anyone of any age. When done properly, it exercises 80 percent of your muscles and improves your overall heart, mind and body health. Get started this summer with this great outdoor activity as Carver County Park staff teach you how to use the poles, a proper walking technique, and pole-walking locations you can explore. All pole equipment will be provided for class participants' use. Transportation to and from parks is not included. The three week class runs Friday June 11, 18 and 25th from 10:00 am - 11:00 am Class 1 (6/11) will meet at Lake Minnewashta Regional Park Class 2 (6/18) will meet at Lake Ann Park Class 3 (6/25) will meet at Lake Susan Park

  • Zumba with Dawn

    Zumba, perfect for everybody and every body. Each Zumba class is designed to bring people together to sweat it out! It is a total workout combining cardio, muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility, boosted energy and FUN! Ditch the workout and join the party! All classes will be conducted outdoors at Chaska High School on the Patio/Courtyard area when weather is nice. In the case of inclement weather, we will hold class virtually through Zoom. A Zoom link will be emailed to you in the event of inclement weather.
