  • 12-24 Months - World of Ones

    World of Ones for 12-24 Months as of 7/1/2024 Discover the developmental needs of a one year old and learn about what drives them in their quest for exploring the world around them. Learn what parents can do to maintain equilibrium in the household amidst the opposing drives of this age. This is a gradually separating class and there is no separation during the first class. After the firsts class the amount of separation time can vary anywhere between 10 minutes and 40 minutes and is determined by the needs of the children, the needs of the parents, the ages of the children and the staffing of a particular group. Sibling care is not available for summer ECFE courses.
  • 3D Printing: Jewelry Fabrication & Arts

    Bring your creations to life in this 3D printing class. The ancient craft of jewelry making is brought to the modern world using TinkerCad and 3D printers. Students will learn to build 2D and 3D models on the computer using CAD software. They will design and print a pair of earrings, a ring, or a pendant in this class. Additionally, they will get to bring home two of their 3D creations.   • ACT Test Prep Course l Grades 10-12 (Virtual)

    **Please read before registering for this virtual class: Your student's district Chromebook will not work for this virtual class. You will need to have access to a personal laptop or desk top computer (with camera and microphone) to participate in the virtual option. During the next few months, many of our juniors and seniors will take their ACT College Entrance Test. To help students prepare for this test, Advantage Educational Programs, in cooperation with Eastern Carver County Community Education, will offer their ACT prep courses to students from all high schools in Eastern Carver County.     Participants with special needs will learn how to play songs on color-coded 3-string guitars, keyboards and bass guitars as well as a plethora of percussion instruments. Sing along as well. We’ll learn pop, rock, hip hop and country songs. Innovative adaptive music curriculum designed by Twin Cities leader in music education Ruth LeMay and taught by district music educator Eric Songer.   • Adult Advanced Tennis League

    This class is for the more ADVANCED tennis player who can sustain a rally with medium to very fast paced shots (USTA NTRP rating of 3.5+). Each class will consist of approximately 1 hour of fun, live-ball tennis drills with lots of movement utilizing all the tennis strokes to help improve your tennis game. The remaining 30 minutes will consist of both singles and/or doubles match play. Due to the number of higher-level players that typically register, it is highly recommended you contact Jim Mason at jimhmason@comcast.net if you are unsure if you meet the recommended 3.5 NTRP rating for this class.     Are you seeking opportunities to practice speaking Spanish? If so, this is the class for you! Instructors will engage participants each week with real-life conversation scenarios to encourage chatting and conversation. Conversation topics include 'un poco de todo' a little of everything and everyday Spanish. In this dynamic and hands-on class, participants will practice useful Spanish vocabulary and conversation components that can be applied to the home, workplace, travel, leisure, etc. Start speaking Spanish today! *Applicable to new and returning Spanish conversation participants. *Basic computer experience and the ability to access ZOOM is required.     This class is for the more ADVANCED tennis player who can sustain a rally with medium to fast paced shots. The class will consist of all live ball drills focusing on different shots and different areas of the court. Be prepared for lots of movement and high-energy drills. This class is a weekly signup and only those registered at the correct level will be able to participate in the drill. Confirmation must be received from Jim Mason and /or Community Education by the Friday before the drill in order to participate in the drill. We’ll even paint our own anime-style self-portraits on real canvas boards. This class is perfect for anyone who wants to fine-tune their drawing skills. New this year will be the utilization of the ball machine so players can have more repetition learning each tennis stroke. This class also includes weekly match play from 1-3pm on Wednesdays. If your son or daughter has played on a HS team other than Chanhassen, please reach out to Jim Mason at jimhmason@comcast.net before registering to ensure this is the appropriate level for your child. To make the class more schedule friendly-if you choose the 8 session section (6320.8) you may come to any 8 classes on a Tuesday and Thursday. This includes ALL THE MATCH DAYS on Wednesdays!

New this year will be the utilization of the ball machine so players can have more repetition learning each tennis stroke. This also includes weekly match play from 1-3pm on Wednesdays.     Enjoy the peace and tranquility of the Arboretum’s Japanese Garden: Seisui-Tei, “Garden of Pure Water”. Join the Arboretum's Nature-Based Therapeutics staff on a scavenger hunt for the symbolic elements in the garden and discover their meaning. Compare Minnesota nature to Japan nature and practice a style of Japanese garden that does not have any plants! Finish your experience by enjoying a cool drink in the Japanese Tea House. Meet at Cedar Lake Farm Regional Park for a unique art class that will start with a scavenger hunt to find items in nature. Participants will then create clay imprinted medallions to preserve and enjoy nature year round!
