    Discover Fly Fishing

This small class will teach beginners the basics of fly-fishing. Topics include: Tackle (rod, reels, lines, leaders, flies), casting, knots, local fly fishing opportunities, safety, conservation and etiquette. Each student will leave class with their own fly rod and reel kit; a value of $110! Session one will consist of classroom-based conversation and learning. For session two, we'll head to the lake and test our skills. If you have a Minnesota fishing license, you can fish with a fly on your rod/reel. If you don't have a current license, you will still be able to practice your casting skills but not fish with a fly. In case of severe weather on the second night, we will use Thursday, May 18th as a makeup date.
