  • Adventures in Knitting

    Join this knitter's workshop where students can choose from four projects. You bring the yarn and needles and the teacher, Lara Neel, will bring the patterns and make sure that you have a great time making a project you will treasure or love to give as a gift! This class is perfect for knitters of all levels. If you're confused by the material list or have questions about the projects, come to the first class and Lara will get you started. You can then purchase supplies before the second class. Projects to choose from: 1. Hat (great for beginners) – about 220 yards of worsted-weight yarn, size 7 16-inch circular needles and size 7 double-pointed needles. 2. Slippers – about 380 yards of worsted-weight yarn and size 9 needles, any type of needle is fine. 3. Baby Sweater – about 220 yards of worsted-weight yarn and a set of size 10 needles, any type of needle is fine. 4. Mittens – about 120 yards of worsted-weight yarn and a set of size 6 double-pointed needles. Join us online! This class will be held using the online platform, Zoom. Upon registering, you will receive a link to access the class. Simply click the link on the days and time of class to attend the class from the comfort of your own home! This online class is held in partnership with Westonka Community Education.
  • Bob Ross Oil Painting

    This course will guide you through the step-by-step technique of the Bob Ross Wet-on-Wet style of painting. In this relaxed atmosphere, each class will provide you the opportunity to make your very own 20 x 16 replica of a Bob Ross painting that may include sunsets, mountains, rivers, hills, lakes, trees, or seascapes. You will be able to amaze yourself and your friends with your very own masterpiece that you can keep for yourself or give as a gift. All equipment at each station will be disinfected prior to class. The instructor will wear a mask and gloves during the duration of the class. Due to COVID-19 precautions, only registered participants of activities are allowed in District buildings. Instructors will greet students at the entrance before class and return them to the same door when class is complete. Instructors will wear a mask and face shield Anyone over the age of 5 years must wear a face covering at all times – regardless of what activity they’re participating in.     Crochet your own Dreamcatcher! Each kit includes a 5-inch hoop, ribbon, embroidery thread, feathers, and detailed photo instructions to create a unique piece. You will be notified when the kit is available for pick up. Difficulty: Intermediate - should have basic crocheting knowledge.
  • Mandala Dot Art Class

    This Mandala art class includes 3 hours of detailed instructor led small group participation, paint mixing, live interactive step-by-step guidance, tips and tricks, loads of creativity and a finished project to call your own! You will not realize how quickly time flies when you are having fun! Mandala painting is an ancient art form which can be meditative, healing and very relaxing. Benefits include: stress reduction, mental clarity, development of spatial awareness, enhanced attention and concentration. More than anything, it is an extremely joyful process for adults of all ages with no previous art experience required. The art form will rejuvenate your mind, body and soul in a meditative safe environment while joyfully engaging in learning something new. This is scheduled to run in-person. Should we need to change to a virtual option, we will notify participants. Finished project will be similar to photos.
