    Participants with special needs will learn how to play songs on color-coded 3-string guitars, keyboards and bass guitars as well as a plethora of percussion instruments. Sing along as well. We’ll learn pop, rock, hip hop and country songs. Innovative adaptive music curriculum designed by Twin Cities leader in music education Ruth LeMay and taught by district music educator Eric Songer. Instruments provided. * One to One supervision is not provided. Caregivers/friends are welcome to attend with students if assistance is needed.

  • Adult Advanced Tennis League

    This class is for the more ADVANCED tennis player who can sustain a rally with medium to very fast paced shots (USTA NTRP rating of 3.5+). Each class will consist of approximately 1 hour of fun, live-ball tennis drills with lots of movement utilizing all the tennis strokes to help improve your tennis game. The remaining 30 minutes will consist of both singles and/or doubles match play. Due to the number of higher-level players that typically register, it is highly recommended you contact Jim Mason at jimhmason@comcast.net if you are unsure if you meet the recommended 3.5 NTRP rating for this class.   • Advanced Adult Tennis Drill

    This class is for the more ADVANCED tennis player who can sustain a rally with medium to fast paced shots. The minimum NTRP rating for this drill should be 3.5 to 4.0. The drill will consist of both live ball and instructor fed drills focusing on different shots and different areas of the court. Be prepared for lots of movement and high-energy drills. This class is a weekly signup and only those registered at the correct level will be able to participate in the drill. Confirmation must be received from Jim Mason and/or Community Education by the Friday before the drill in order to participate in the drill.     In general the person for this class has played on Chanhassen Varsity team or the upper level of the Chanhassen JV team AND has a desire to play on a Varsity team in the future! Since this class is 1 of 2 of our highest level classes we offer for high school players, it is important that the ability level of the player is a good fit for this class. Thus, each player will be placed on the waiting list and confirmation must be received from Jim Mason in order to secure your spot in the class. Please reach out to Jim Mason at jimhmason@comcast.net if your son/daughter did not play on a Varsity team and you feel this is the correct class. Each class will consist of developing all the tennis strokes, conditioning, and singles/doubles strategy through instructor-fed and live-ball drills, in addition to the utilization of the ball machine to further develop the skills which are needed to play on a high school Varsity team. This also includes weekly match play from 1-3 pm on Wednesdays. Have a busy summer and can’t make all 11 classes? Please register to come to any 8 class days on a Tuesday or Thursday. This still includes ALL THE MATCH DAYS on Wednesdays!

    A chance to get outside, be active, and burn off extra energy after long days at school. After School Adventure Club is a 6-week series of outdoor adventures. Activities may include Disc Golf, Fishing, Geocaching, paddling, and more! Each week a different adventure will be chosen a few days in advance. We all know that Spring weather in Minnesota can be unpredictable and that just adds to the fun! All equipment provided. This program offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.

    Calling all archers! This archery class is an opportunity for students of all ability levels to try something new! Proper techniques for stance, aim and release are taught by trained instructors who utilize experiential learning and creative games to ensure that all archers grow in their abilities-and have fun! Students can go straight to this program after school from Chaska Middle School East or West. All equipment provided. This program is offered in partnership with Carver County Parks.
  • Art Experiments with Abrakadoodle!

    In this camp we will have fun using art materials and science to create some cool special effects. We’ll investigate the world of art and science. We’ll experiment with tinfoil, shaving cream, glow in the dark paint, chalk, glue, salt and watercolor to make interesting and colorful creations. We’ll make cupcakes on canvas with puffy shaving cream frosting, make art that glows, try our hand at foil embossing and more in this in this camp of art experiments. Bring a beverage and a nut-free snack. Supervision between morning/afternoon camps over the lunch hour is not provided. A few things to remember when arriving for camp at the Family Learning Center: • Please enter at the Main Entrance (Door #1) and someone will be there to check your child into camp. If you arrive early and doors are locked (as the FLC is a secure building) please wait with your child in the entry way until camp time. • At the end of class, the students will meet parents at the Main Entrance for pick up. • Most times instructors must go directly to another location after class and are unable to stay late.     Learn about a new medium and explore art history by studying different artists and their work. Create wonderful artwork while being inspired by Edvard Munch's The Scream, Pablo Picasso's Woman in Hat, Vincent Van Gogh's Chair, Wassily Kandinsky's Bavarian Market Square and Claude Monet's Regatta at Argenteuil. The daily results will be truly frame-able!

  • Athleticism Camp

    DASH Sports Athleticism camps provide participants with an overall athleticism building camp experience including speed training, agility, endurance, body control/balance, quickness, strength, power, and jumping. Camp consists of many different types of physical activities, drills, and games, all tailored specifically to enhance overall athletic performance. All participants will be evaluated and timed on the first and last day of camp on several athletic tests. Tykes classes will have age appropriate skill based drills and activities. Parent participation is required for the 2-3 yr old age group and recommended when needed for the 4+ year old age group. Campers should wear athletic shoes and sunscreen. Please bring a water bottle and a snack.
  • Avoid the Pitfalls of Perimenopause/Menopause (on-line)

    Perimenopause starts around the age of 35 for most women and can last 10-15 years. Common symptoms include fatigue, migraines, weight gain, water retention, depression, sleep disturbances, joint aches, hot flashes, anger flashes, migraines, fibroids, exaggerated PMS and more. Once you understand exactly what is causing all the troublesome symptoms, they are much easier to correct. We'll discuss how to get hormone levels measured-blood test vs. saliva test and what to do with the results; traditional HRT vs. bio-identical HRT. We will also explore acupressure points to assist in symptom relief and nutritional musts. You'll leave with multiple tools and techniques for restoring health and well-being.
  • Ballet - Chaska Dance Team

    This class will be focusing on technique and fundamentals of classical ballet that will increase your overall dance facility. Ballet is the foundation of all dance styles. This training will provide technique at the barre, and in the center of the floor. Barre work conditions your body to focus on detail, and center work puts our technique to practice. Advanced - 9:30-11:30am Beginner/Intermediate - 12-2pm
  • Baseball Camp

    Dash Sports Summer Baseball camp provide players with a well-rounded experience in a fun environment. Key elements of throwing, fielding/catching, batting, and baserunning will be taught and practiced, and players will be grouped and challenged at an appropriate level in a fun, positive environment while learning values of ‘Respect, Hustle, and Pride’. Camp ends with a scrimmage on the final day. Athletes should wear sunscreen, bring a water bottle, snack, and a baseball glove (spikes and bats are optional). Baseball and bats are provided.
