Community Education--Eastern Carver Co Schools

Learn about America’s original art form and play with a wonderful group of musicians in our summer jazz ensemble. Learn fun music, how to improvise, how to play in a jazz style and a performance or two. The student should have at least two years of experience playing a band instrument or guitar, piano, bass, drums or voice. Open to students who have just completed grades 6-8. Be a part of this unique and challenging experience. Enjoy making music with other top musicians from the ECCS middle school bands. Fun music will be selected and members will learn the fun that comes from producing a quality musical performance. Our middle school honor band is available for students who have received an invitation from their band director. Performance: June 3, Chaska High School

Learn the basics of street marching, play some fun music, and perform in three parades. Students should have at least one year of experience playing a band instrument. Performances: Friday, July 4 Chanhassen Independence Day Parade Weekend of July 25-27 Chaska River City Days Monday, July 14 (Tentative) Valleyfair Students will need to purchase a shirt for $15 (if they don't already have one) and a lyre to hold their music (costs vary between $5-$13).
