StormHawks Preschool and Wrap Around Care
Ages 6-7: The main emphasis is to continue to build basic tennis skills and have fun! With the use of age-appropriate equipment and up-beat, well trained instructors we will further build basic athletic skills, develop fine motor skills like hand-eye coordination and emphasize balance and agility. Learning to rally with a partner of a similar ability level will be a focal point of this class. Please bring your appropriately sized tennis racquet and a water bottle.

The United States Tennis Association guidelines are that kids learn the game of tennis with age-appropriate equipment and on age-appropriate court dimensions. We also believe this is the correct way for kids to learn as well. Please watch the following video to understand why.

Jim is a USPTA certified tennis teaching professional with nearly 30 years of tennis teaching experience to all age groups and ability levels. He played college tennis for 3 years at Mankato State University and was a conference champion his senior year. He also has a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. Jim started his high school coaching journey as the boys head coach for Chaska High School in 2005. When Chanhassen High School opened in 2009 he moved over to take over both the boys and girls tennis program. As Head Coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams at Chanhassen High School, he has overseen a program that has grown each year in the number of participants and wins. The girl’s team won the conference championship from 2012-2015 and the boys were conference champions in 2019. Jim loves not only working with all age groups and giving back to the game of tennis, but building relationships with all those he steps on the court with.
