Summer Care Programs Pre-K through 8th Grade
This class is perfect for those that played in a middle school program, took our older Youth Match Play Class, or played on a high school JV or B-Team. It is also ideal for the student wanting to go out for high school tennis for the first time! Each class will consist of developing all the tennis strokes, conditioning and singles/doubles strategy through both instructor-fed and live-ball drills and the use of the ball machine. In addition, each class will consist of match play for the last 30 minutes, so kids gain more experience playing matches.

Jim is a USPTA certified tennis teaching professional with nearly 30 years of tennis teaching experience to all age groups and ability levels. He played college tennis for 3 years at Mankato State University and was a conference champion his senior year. He also has a Master’s degree in Education from the University of Minnesota. Jim started his high school coaching journey as the boys head coach for Chaska High School in 2005. When Chanhassen High School opened in 2009 he moved over to take over both the boys and girls tennis program. As Head Coach of both the boys and girls tennis teams at Chanhassen High School, he has overseen a program that has grown each year in the number of participants and wins. The girl’s team won the conference championship from 2012-2015 and the boys were conference champions in 2019. Jim loves not only working with all age groups and giving back to the game of tennis, but building relationships with all those he steps on the court with.
