What is Camp Invention? Who: Curious kids entering grades K-6. What: A confidence-boosting STEM summer camp where kids build creative inventions and lasting friendships. Led by qualified local educators, our camps offer new and exciting hands-on activities every year. Where: Pioneer Ridge Middle School When: July 15-19, 2024 **Camp Invention has pro-activly factored a discount into the registration fee for all Eastern Carver County participants. Everyone registering will receive the $299 discounted rate ! ($324 value)

Students will learn how to fly like the pros in the Drone Racing League by training on a flight simulator. Once they learn the basics of flying, they’ll assemble their very own drone which they’ll get to keep after the camp. After learning drone safety and maintenance, students will take their drone to the skies and compete in numerous races and challenges. Led by experienced instructors, students will leave camp with the skills and knowledge to pilot their drones and keep them running. The drones used in camps have cameras, and are perfect for entry level pilots. *Choose to borrow a Drone or purchase your own at a discounted rate! The SkyLens Drone will also work for this camp. **It is preferred for students not to bring their drone from home. A few things to remember when arriving for camp at the Family Learning Center: • Please enter at the Main Entrance (Door #1) and someone will be there to check your child into camp. If you arrive early and doors are locked (as the FLC is a secure building) please wait with your child in the entry way until camp time. • At the end of class, the students will meet parents at the Main Entrance for pick up. • Most times instructors must go directly to another location after class and are unable to stay late. Join us in this super-exciting, super-secret Lab to design, experiment, and build your ultimate collection of extremely cool Gizmos & Gadgets! Create your own rubber band shooter, robotic arm, slingshot rocket, personal fan, and levitating pencil, among many other mind-blowing STEAM projects! Interested in RC Cars? Want to try racing them on a track? GREAT! Join us as we explore what makes them work and get to try them out. Participants will leave with a better understanding and get some time testing out their driving skills on a few different types of RC Cars. *Participants can use RC Cars provided or use their own on approval.

SkyLens Workshop is an exhilarating camp where young photographers explore the realm of aerial imaging using photography drones. Guided by experienced instructors, students learn drone piloting, capture stunning videos and pictures from the skies, and delve into digital editing on computers. Through hands-on activities, participants unleash their creativity, mastering the art of composition and storytelling from above. Join us for an unforgettable journey where the sky becomes the canvas, and every frame is a new perspective waiting to be captured and edited to perfection! *Choose to borrow a Drone or purchase your own at a discounted rate!
