Child and Babysitting Safety

Summer 2021

Participants will learn the responsibilities of being a prepared, safe, responsible and professional babysitter. Topics include supervision, behavior guidance, proper feeding and diapering techniques, personal safety, basic first aid, medical emergencies, and fire safety. Dolls, bottles, and diaper supplies will be provided at class for hands-on participation. This three hour class is developed by the American Safety and Health Institute and approved by the American Pediatrics Association. Class participants receive a manual and certification card. Participants should bring a peanut free snack and beverage to class.

Due to COVID-19 precautions, only registered participants of activities are allowed in District buildings.

Parents are not permitted to enter the facility nor stay to watch practices or activities. Exception: if the participant is 5 years old or younger, one parent may attend. Please keep siblings at home.
Instructors will greet students at the entrance before class and return them to the same door when class is complete.
Instructors will wear a mask
Anyone over the age of 5 years must wear a face covering at all times – regardless of what activity they’re participating in.
