Instructor

Matthew Potter

Matt Potter teaches 6th-8th grade band with District 112 at Chaska Middle School East. Matt has his Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in music education from University of St. Thomas in St. Paul, MN. Matt’s primary instruments are the saxophone and the piano, but Matt teaches lessons for all woodwind, brass, and percussion instruments. In addition to teaching, Matt still frequently performs with two rock bands and at a church. Matt believes middle school music students should have the opportunities to perform, create and listen to many styles of music.

Eric Songer

Eric has been a music teacher in Eastern Carver County Schools since 1997.  In 2007, he was named District 112's Teacher of the Year.  He has grown the after school and summer music programs into thriving, exciting opportunities for students.
