Lauren Husting

Lauren Husting is an active educator and performer in the Twin Cities music scene.  She performs regularly with diverse ensembles such as Brass Lassie (traditional Celtic music), The Satellites (R&B), Mill City Five (traditional Jazz), and Metro Brass (classical) and is often asked to sit in with other groups in the metro area.  She maintains a teaching studio of nearly 30 students and is on faculty at both Hamline University and Century College.
Lauren teaches low brass from a holistic musical perspective.  She encourages her students to unlock their inner musicianship and speak to the music, learning technique and style through expression.  Her students person and district contests and audition for and play in honor bands and youth orchestras.  While some go on to major in music in college, all maintain a joy and love for performing beyond grade school.  She is adept with beginners to advanced students and welcomes all ages to her studio.
